I recently read two great books, one about the financial habits of millionaires, and the other about a way of thinking called Essentialism.  It occurred to me that part of being ready for the impacts of climate change, or your favorite calamity of choice, is being financially prepared. As you may recall from a recent post about fossil fuel divestment, fossil fuels will soon become a stranded asset, meaning we can not afford to pull it out of the ground and burn it. Not that long ago, Republicans and Democrats agreed that climate change was an import issue.  My, how times have changed.  Nowadays Republican politicians and pundits are loath to even speak the words.  Why the big shift? Well here we are again, talking about oil.  Oil, and other fossil fuels are the root of our problem; we can’t live with them, we can’t live without them.  At least not yet.
