An alphabetical list of climate change podcasts. The tag line from each podcast’s website is listed next to the title. Some podcasts are better than others, of course. The ones that are bold stand out in some way from the pack. Of course, your views or interests may vary. Also, (Some helpful comments are found italicized in brackets).

  • A Matter of Degrees – Join Dr. Leah Stokes and Dr. Katharine Wilkinson as they tell stories about the powerful forces behind climate change — and the tools we have to fix it.
  • America Adapts – Join climate change adaptation expert Doug Parsons as he talks with experts from different fields about the choices we face and the people who make them. (Great long-form interviews about adaptation to climate change, from a societal and professional level (persons working in the field of adaptation policy). Focused on the U.S., but with some great international content also.)
  • Citizen’s Climate Lobby – Citizens’ Climate Radio is a climate change podcast hosted by staff member and volunteer Peterson Toscano. In each episode, we meet with people from all walks of life to discuss the effects of the climate crisis and the importance of taking climate action. (More insiders talking to each other than basic learning.)
  • Climate and Capital Podcast – The business and finance of the climate economy—in podcast form. C&C managing editor Jared Downing speaks with climate experts and business leaders and helps you stay up to date on the latest climate news and issues.
  • Climate Cast from MPRNews – MPR meteorologist Paul Huttner discusses the latest research on our changing climate and the consequences we’re seeing here in Minnesota and worldwide. Hear Climate Cast each Thursday on MPR’s All Things Considered. (A short, bite-sized podcast on current topics of climate change interest.)
  • Climate Confident – Welcome to Climate Confident (previously Climate 21), your go-to source for the latest and greatest in successful climate emissions reduction/removal stories and strategies.
  • Climate Now – Our mission is to provide policy makers, business leaders, investors and journalists with the scientific and economic context necessary to make good decisions about policy formulation, capital allocation, and narrative focus.
  • Climate One – Climate One from The Commonwealth Club is the premier platform for empowering conversations that connect all aspects of the climate emergency. Through our podcast, national radio show, and live convenings for thought leaders and concerned members of the public, we create opportunities for dialogue and inspire a more complete understanding of the current crisis.
  • Climate Rising – Business and policy leaders join Harvard Business School faculty to discuss what businesses are doing, can do, and should do to confront climate change.
  • Climate Scientists – Informal conversations with climate-relevant researchers.
  • Columbia Energy Exchange – Columbia Energy Exchange features in-depth conversations with the world’s top energy and climate leaders from government, business, academia and civil society.
  • Comedians Conquering Climate Change – The funniest, friendliest, and shortest podcast addressing today’s critical climate and clean energy topics. (Seems to not be in production anymore, but check this out.)
  • Direct Current – Direct Current – An Energy.gov Podcast (from the US Department of Energy)
  • Drilled – Climate accountability — investigating and understanding the various drivers of delay on climate action — is critical to understanding and addressing climate change. (Check out some of their other podcasts.)
  • Energy 360 – Energy 360° examines the energy landscape from the intersection of policy, markets, technologies, and geopolitics. 
  • Energy Policy NowEnergy Policy Now offers clear talk on the issues that define our relationship with energy and its impact on society and the environment.
  • Energy Transition Show – Straight talk about the world’s transition from fossil fuels to renewables with energy expert Chris Nelder. (To hear full episodes you have to subscribe/pay.)
  • Factor This – Designed solely for the solar industry, Factor This! is a weekly podcast that provides in-depth and actionable content not available anywhere else. (More for solar developers, but the content is interesting and the podcast is usually not too long.)
  • GARP Climate Risk Podcast – Conversations with leading experts in risk management.
  • GreenBiz 350 – GreenBiz 350, co-hosted by Joel Makower and Heather Clancy, is the weekly podcast about the people and companies behind the headlines in sustainable business and clean technology.
  • Green Energy Futures – Green Energy Futures is heard every week on the CKUA Radio Network in Alberta and the CKUA stream online. The show airs on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. (the view from up North!)
  • Heat of the Moment – On Heat of the Moment, a 10-part podcast by FP Studios, in partnership with the Climate Investment Funds, we focus on ordinary people across the globe who have found ways to fight back. (An excellent podcast that had a limited run, from the esteemed Foreign Policy journal.)
  • How We Survive – The climate crisis is here. And we’re looking for solutions. (An excellent podcast!)
  • The Big Switch – To slow climate change, we need to transform our homes, buildings, cars, and economy quickly. “The Big Switch” is a show that explains how we can rebuild the energy systems all around us. (Another excellent podcast!)
  • The Climate Pod – Co-hosts Brock Benefiel and Ty Benefiel discuss the latest news on the climate crisis with a wide-variety of world-renowned experts on justice, science, politics, culture, activism, and more (Climate bros talk climate with interesting guests.)
  • The Interchange Recharged – On the Interchange Recharged podcast, David Banmiller hosts bi-weekly discussions on the global energy transition and the transformative technology that underpins it. 
  • The Last Environmentalist – We are the first generation in human history to have the data to know what’s coming and the last with a chance to do something about it. Welcome to The Last Environmentalist, a show about action, ingenuity, and hope in the face of climate change. (No new episodes since 2020.)
  • More Power To You – More Power To You is a podcast dedicated to a sustainable, clean energy economy. It is intended to be accessible to listeners interested in clean energy without getting too deep into the technical weeds. (This was a great podcast, but there have been no new podcasts since 2019.)
  • My Climate Journey – Jason started on a journey to speak with fascinating and accomplished people tackling the climate crisis from every angle and discipline. Knowing others might also be curious, he began recording his conversations to get their knowledge out there.  (The host started out pretty manic, and has improved over time.)
  • NORI Carbon Removal Newsroom – A bite-sized podcast for carbon removal news on-the-go. Each episode features unique guests and perspectives.
  • NORI Reversing Climate Change – Focused on people & organizations coming together to reverse climate change
  • On The Line – A Podcast for Today’s Wild Land Firefighters, produced by the Health and Human Performance Department at the University of Montana, Missoula.
  • Podship Earth – At a time when our planet is under existential threat, Podship Earth helps listeners engage in the adventure of life on earth. (Lots of folks liked this one. Seems to have stopped production in 2021.)
  • Politico Energy – The latest news in energy and environmental politics & policy – must-know stories and candid insights from POLITICO’s ten-person energy team and journalists across our newsroom. All in just five minutes each morning.
  • Stories for Earth – Follow along as we discuss books, movies, TV shows, and more to explore what certain themes and characters can teach us about responding to climate change. (An interesting take on learning about climate change. Sadly, it seems to have stopped production in 2022.)
  • Switched On – The future of energy, transport, sustainability and more, as told by BNEF analysts. Each week, Dana Perkins sits down with BloombergNEF (BNEF) analysts to uncover the key findings and stories behind their latest research. (The host is perky, despite having a few sour guests. LOL! Well done.)
  • The Climate Ready Podcast – The ClimateReady Podcast features interviews and segments on emerging trends in the intersection of climate and water. (Seems to have stopped production in 2021.)
  • The Energy Gang – Our bi-weekly digest on energy, cleantech and the environment. A WoodMackinzie podcast. (Great podcast with interesting guests, and/or discussion on current topics between the hosts.)
  • The Sustainable Hour – Climate safety is a human right. This is why we believe Centre for Climate Safety must do much more than simply being a centre for climate communication, though communication is what we have focused on and specialised in since our foundation in 2012. (The view from Down Under (Australia).)
  • TILclimate – Climate change is confusing. This award-winning MIT podcast breaks down the science, technologies, and policies behind climate change, how it’s impacting us, and what we can do about it.
  • Warm Regards – A podcast about life on the warming planet. (A bit of far left hand wringing but usually entertaining. No longer in production.)
  • Yale Climate Connections(great website and organization, but the podcast is so short it’s barely worth listening to.)
